Great Drills to Run for Basketball Camp

For elementary and middle school players, keep individual drills to five to eight minutes. Younger players learn best through quick, high-energy reps. Once a drill drags, the teaching usually gets worse and the effort drops with it. For high school and college players, you can extend drills to ten to fifteen minutes. Older players can sustain concentration longer, and they need enough reps to build timing, conditioning, communication, and muscle memory. That does not mean every advanced drill needs to be long. If the drill has served its purpose, move on. A shorter drill with sharp effort is better than a longer drill that loses focus.
